How we protect and handle your personal information

Last updated: January 15, 2025

1

Information We Collect

When you interact with Yuxton's floristry masterclasses, we collect certain information to provide you with the best possible learning experience. This happens through various touchpoints during your journey with us.

Personal Details: Your name, email address, phone number, and postal address when you register for classes or contact us about our programs.

Class Information: Your skill level, floral design interests, dietary restrictions for workshop refreshments, and accessibility needs we should accommodate.

Payment Data: Billing information processed through secure payment systems when you book masterclasses or purchase materials.

Communication Records: Messages you send us through our contact forms, emails, or phone calls about our floristry programs.

We also gather technical information about how you use our website - things like which pages you visit most often, how long you spend reading about different masterclasses, and what device you're using. This helps us make our site more useful for everyone interested in learning floristry.

2

How We Use Your Information

Your information serves several important purposes in delivering our floristry education services. We're transparent about each way we use your data.

  • Processing your masterclass registrations and managing your bookings efficiently
  • Sending you class confirmations, schedule updates, and important information about your upcoming workshops
  • Providing customer support when you have questions about techniques, materials, or upcoming sessions
  • Improving our teaching methods based on feedback and learning preferences you share with us
  • Notifying you about new masterclass offerings that match your interests and skill level
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate financial records as required by Azerbaijan business law
  • Creating a safe learning environment by verifying participant information and managing class capacity

We never sell your personal information to third parties or use it for purposes unrelated to our floristry education mission. Everything we do with your data connects back to providing you with excellent learning experiences.

3

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We keep your information private and secure, sharing it only in specific circumstances that directly support your learning experience or fulfill legal requirements.

Service Providers: We work with trusted companies that help us deliver our masterclasses - payment processors for secure transactions, email service providers for class communications, and booking systems that manage our workshop schedules. These partners can only use your information for the specific services they provide to us.

Legal Requirements: If required by Azerbaijan law or legal processes, we may need to share information with government authorities or legal representatives. This only happens when we're legally obligated to do so.

Business Changes: Should Yuxton ever merge with another educational organization or transfer ownership, your information would be handled according to this privacy policy during any transition period.

We never share your contact information with other students in your classes without your explicit permission, though we may facilitate introductions if you express interest in connecting with fellow floristry enthusiasts.

4

Data Security Measures

Protecting your personal information is something we take seriously. We've implemented several layers of security to keep your data safe from unauthorized access or misuse.

All payment information is processed through encrypted connections that meet international security standards. We don't store complete credit card numbers on our systems - that sensitive information is handled by certified payment processors who specialize in financial data protection.

Our website uses SSL encryption to protect information as it travels between your computer and our servers. You can verify this by looking for the lock icon in your browser's address bar when you're on our site.

Access to student records is limited to staff members who need that information to do their jobs effectively. We regularly review who has access to what information and remove access when it's no longer needed.

While we work hard to protect your information, no system is completely foolproof. If we ever experience a security incident that affects your personal data, we'll notify you promptly and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.

5

Your Privacy Rights

You have several important rights regarding your personal information, and we're committed to helping you exercise these rights easily and effectively.

  • Access: You can request a copy of all personal information we have about you, including registration details and communication history
  • Correction: If any information we have is incorrect or outdated, you can ask us to fix it or update it yourself through your account
  • Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information, though we may need to keep some records for legal or safety reasons
  • Limitation: You can ask us to restrict how we use your information while we address any concerns you have
  • Portability: You can request your data in a format that allows you to transfer it to another service provider
  • Objection: You can object to certain uses of your information, particularly for marketing communications

To exercise any of these rights, simply contact us using the information provided at the end of this policy. We'll respond to your request within 30 days and explain any steps we need to take.

6

Data Retention and Storage

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide our floristry education services and meet legal requirements in Azerbaijan.

Student registration information is maintained for three years after your last masterclass attendance. This allows us to track your learning progress if you return for advanced workshops and helps us maintain accurate records for business purposes.

Payment records are kept for seven years to comply with Azerbaijan accounting and tax regulations. Communication records, such as emails about classes or feedback about workshops, are typically retained for two years.

If you request deletion of your account, we'll remove your personal information from our active systems within 90 days. Some information may remain in backup systems for up to one additional year before being permanently deleted.

We review our data retention practices annually to ensure we're not keeping information longer than necessary and that our storage methods continue to meet current security standards.

7

International Data Transfers

While Yuxton operates primarily in Azerbaijan, some of our technology partners and service providers are located in other countries. This means your information may occasionally be processed or stored outside of Azerbaijan.

When we transfer data internationally, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your privacy. We work only with service providers who maintain strong data protection standards and have clear agreements about how they can use your information.

Our email service provider operates servers in the European Union, which has strict data protection laws similar to those we follow in Azerbaijan. Payment processing may involve servers in multiple jurisdictions, but all transactions are encrypted and handled according to international security standards.

If you have concerns about international data transfers or want more specific information about where your data is processed, we're happy to provide additional details about our current service providers and their data handling practices.

8

Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website uses small files called cookies to improve your browsing experience and help us understand how people use our site. Most of these cookies are harmless and actually make the site work better for you.

Essential cookies keep track of your preferences as you move between pages and remember items you've added to your cart when booking masterclasses. These cookies don't identify you personally - they just help the website function properly.

We also use analytics cookies to see which parts of our site are most popular and identify areas where we can improve the user experience. This information is aggregated and anonymous - we can see that 50 people visited our advanced arrangement techniques page, but we can't see which specific individuals viewed it.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Blocking all cookies might make some parts of our website less functional, but you're welcome to adjust these settings based on your comfort level with data collection.

9

Children's Privacy Protection

Our floristry masterclasses are designed for adult learners, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age without parental consent.

If a parent or guardian wants to enroll their teenager in one of our workshops, we require written permission and ask the parent to handle all registration and communication processes. This ensures that minors' information is protected and that parents stay informed about their child's participation.

Should we discover that we've inadvertently collected information from someone under 16 without proper parental consent, we'll delete that information immediately and contact the parents to explain what happened.

For family workshops or events where children might be present, we take extra care to ensure that any photos or videos capture only consenting adults, unless we have specific written permission from parents for their children to be included.

10

Policy Updates and Changes

We review this privacy policy regularly to ensure it accurately reflects our current practices and remains compliant with applicable laws. When we make changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For minor changes that don't affect how we collect or use your information, we'll simply post the updated policy on our website. For significant changes that might impact your privacy rights, we'll send email notifications to all current students and recent masterclass participants.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically, especially before registering for new classes or updating your account information. Understanding how we handle your data helps you make informed decisions about participating in our programs.

If you disagree with changes to our privacy practices, you can contact us to discuss your concerns or request deletion of your account information if you prefer not to continue under the new terms.
